This is a Woman

The subject’s strong features and facial expression may lead to the observer initially thinking that they are viewing the portrait of a male model. My subject was, in fact, a woman who posed for me at a studio in South London and over several sessions I attempted to capture her likeness in pencil. I then took my sketches back to my studio and created this contemporary piece in oil on canvas to showcase her bold and steely personality.
