Another portrait of Dominic – a professional life model – in a studio in South East London. This was a long pose in a (traditionally) bland setting, with a blocked-out window.

I chose to paint in black and white as it seemed the natural pallet for such a sombre setting. Dominic relaxed into the position effortlessly and the overall effect was a wistful one, that I intended to refine when returning to my studio, but ultimately decided against as the choppiness of the brushstrokes seemed to capture the mood of the pose appropriately.
