Aimée and I have been in each other’s lives since we were three years old and so achieving a likeness when painting her came rather naturally. This photo was taken prior to an evening out, with Aimée sporting her signature favourite hat and purposefully not smiling.

Although the lack of a full smile would ordinarily lead to the portrait taking on a slightly more sombre tone, Aimée’s sense of humour and wit comes through (thankfully) nonetheless.
